Henry Darger

Henry Darger lived from 1872 to 1973 and during those years he lived a sad a closed off live by himself. He lost his mother when he was little and his father died in a poor house. Henry grew up alone, in a hospital for crazy children. After escaping from the hospital later in his teens, he found a job as a janitor at a hospital in Chicago. He spent some time in the army, where his experiences changed his life. He came back to Chicago and resumed his old job, and began writing a masterpiece that would stand out in history forever. The book told a made up story, that Henry lived in his head. The book was 15,000 pages and contained hundreds of pictures that he had painted. He lived his life, working and spending most his time in his room, alone. He worked on the book until his death. His friends discoved the book right before his passing, but it was too late for Henry. His book lives on with his mysterious stories and wonderful paintings.
