Should art be intentional and representational to be considered art? What is your personal definition of art?

Art does not have to be intentional or representational to be considered art. Everyone has a different idea of what art is. Art is a word that can mean many different things and be used in reference to different things. The word art was originally meant to refer to a skill, this meaning is still relevant but trying to define the word in more modern terms is almost impossible. There is no real way to define it because art is a word that carries a different meaning to each person. So because there is no real way of defining what art is or should be saying that it has to be intentional or representational to be considered art would be wrong. If everyone thinks of art differently and has different considerations that have to be met then putting limits on what it has to be would be just as impossible as trying to define the word.
