Romans Keeping it Real

The romans used verism in art and finally showed people how they are more realistically. My guess is that as artworks as well as the people they were reflecting became more popular and noticed, artist began to realize that the way they had been depicted was completely wrong! So once artists began to notice that, they decided they would rather capture images and people the way they really are instead of how they thought they were. People did not have to be shown as their ideal self and they did not have to be shown exactly the same in every image. The verism in their artwork brought the reality back into their artwork. Every flaw was captured in their artwork and figures were not changed to fit the way any one person "Should" look.
