Emotions and Land

The core of Romanticism is taking emotions to the extreme. The idea is to make the view feel like they were there from just looking at the picture. While most of the art in the Romanticism time was very dark, not all of it was. Most people consider the Romanticism time a time of sadness and despair. This is purely because a lot of the art is about death and destruction. This is the time where artists started putting fewer angles and more demons in their art.
In a lot Romanticism art there is nothing but dark colors, at least for me (I’m color blind) it is really hard for me to pull out figures out of the back ground. It’s the heavenly land scapes that catch my eye. During the time England was getting the itch to occupy every plot of land in the world. With that many explores are sent out to claim new lands for the king. The problem being that just because you find new land doesn’t mean people will go there. In order to make people travel to these new lands artist had to make it seem as if the land was blessed by God himself. They also used the lore of gold as well, even if there was no gold.
