Art Masters!

Artists such as Michelangelo, Caravaggio, and Da Vinci were all known as "Masters" during the Renaissance and Baroque time periods. These men became known as masters because they created great pieces of artwork that were inspiring to others. They were all very skilled and educated in everything from the philosophy of art to mathematics and anatomy. This knowledge helped them create such spectacular works of art. They were able to create perfect form and correct perspective and light using their knowledge in other fields. Other artists since then have taken these great works and learned from the masters. They have followed in their footsteps. This is also what makes them masters, they created a style or way of creating a piece of art for others to learn from. During the 17th and 18th centuries, which is known as the "Baroque" period, art became so diverse. There was no consistency in the art, and no one was able to see any comparisons to the periods before it. New artists started creating new works with new ideas and innovations. Today, there are so many talented and famous artists in so many different fields and mediums. We do not have masters in our present day because there are so many different types of artwork. Art is so broad now days, with so many unique tastes and styles, it is hard to identify one specific time period let alone any of the great masters of this specific time period. Maybe someday in the future they will be able to develop a "label" in order to define our time period.
