The Future of Design

It’s hard to say what direction the future of graphic design will take because we don’t know what the future holds. We do know for sure that design has endless possibilities and will be around for quite a while. Especially now, with as image-oriented as our society is. With every new trend or event that comes along, the field of graphic design will mold itself accordingly. But I don’t think the future is the only thing that will shape the change of design. Artists also look to the past to get a new outlook on their work.

The designers of the past were able to create wonderful works by hand, and with the technology we have at our fingertips now, you can guarantee that whatever the designers of the future come up with, it will be amazing. But just as important as the tools being used is the vision of the artist. Artists have always had to adapt to the new technology of the day, but it was their initial talent that helped them to create what they did. So will the changes of the future be affected by new programs that are coming out? Sure. But the way design evolves will ultimately depend on what the artists of the future create.
