Ruling with Theocracy

When countries are ruled by theocracy, there are several advantages as well as disadvantages. With a theocracy, the country is ruled by their Gods or deity. An individual human is chosen to act as the representitive for the God. Problems can arise from this because the human can get power hungry and decide to say whatever he wants. He could say that the god told him, but no one would ever know differently. Another disadvantage would be the lack of freedom in religion. Everyone would have to believe in the same religion in order for this theocratic government to work. People would either be punished for not believing in the selected religion, or they would go against the laws and rules that had been put into place by the rulers. So this kind of government would only be successful for the people who believe in that religion.
There would be some advantages to a theocratic government as well. If everyone believed in the selected religion, they would not question the laws. As we all know, the gods or God has the final say in life. If people belived in the religion, they are less likely to go against what their ruler has decided. There would be less people trying to go against what has been set before them because it is what their ruler has decided for them.
So, Theocratic governments can have both advantages and disadvantages. The main disadvantage would be if they had a crooked representative who gained to much power.
