Is Art Intentional or Representational?

Hi all, I think that Art is both Intentional and Representational and neither. That may not make sense to some, but to me Art is anything and everything. Sometimes we arrange our composites intentionally because that's exactly the way we want to paint, photograph, draw, etc, them. Sometimes we want to represent our work so that whoever sees it will hopefully feel what we felt and it will represent something to someone the way it did to us, a mood, a memory, a special place, or maybe even a special person. I also think Art is neither. Some of the best pieces of Art was never really meant to be seen by anyone except the Artist him self. It might just be a scribble on a piece of paper, or something that popped into our head and it couldn't possibly make sense to anyone else so we entertained it for our self, to be discovered years after our death and someone sees it and it just clicks with them. Maybe the piece, in whatever form it may be in, wasn't meant for anyone during the Artist's lifetime, it could have been meant for someone hundreds or thousands of years later. Life is a wonderful mystery and we may never know all the answers to things in our lifetime, and I think that's the way it's meant to be. As you can tell from reading this, I'm not very good at expressing myself through writing but I hope someone gets something out of this post.
