Romanticism
Romanticism in artwork is all about how the artist puts so much expression in their pieces. Artwork in this time became more about the values in the paintings. Artist focused on the light sources and the darks within paints. Each artist began to create their own style within the Romanticism era. Artist played more with colors within their paintings. Many painters weren't afraid to be "dark" and "rich" in the color choices they made in their artwork. Besides concentrating on the shades of color, many artist began to incorporate animals back into their artwork. Animals were a big part of this time also. Many artist incorporated animals in their paintings and even focused the painting to an animal. Landscape began to be more "real" in the sense that the artist played a lot with values and wanted the background to look like it was outside. Religion was so much of the subject that was being portrayed in an artist work. Now artist were playing around with animals, landscapes, and even ghoulish/monsters. Even though with all the subjects that an artist would paint they also added a bit of eroticism in their artwork. Romanticism has that bit of eroticism feel to it as if the artist wants the viewer to feel sensual about the piece. The models are placed in the artwork so gentle but at the same time the model is very vulnerable. Romanticism in the artist sense was the period of time when many artist played with adding a little bit of eroticism to their artwork and customizing their own style at the same time.
