Gloom and Doom

The Black Death shook the foundation of a relitivly stable Italian peninsula.
Although it is known more for its horrific affects it caused mass ramification.
It inspired many distinguished works of art and arcutechtuire.
Such works as the Tabernacle of the Virgin Mary in San Michele and the
Triumph of Death in the Camposanto(Pisa Cathedral). In the midst of all
the death and chaos came forth a new perspective, a new point of view that
changed art for the better. The Black Death had a boundless impact on
the style of the art of the era. It caused artists to create greater emotion,
depth and illusionism in there work resulting in a more lifelike interpretation
of there surroundings.
